A man shot and killed his wife and severely injured his daughter after the former refused to pay him for drugs.
Sources revealed that the suspect was an addict of the ice drug who had fled after the incident.
According to officials, Nasreen Bibi, a resident of Dilchian a village in Landianwala, was sleeping at her home in the night when her husband Azam asked her for money for the drug.
Upon her refusal a quarrel ensued between the couple, following which the suspect fatally shot his wife in the head late in the night.
After hearing the gunshot, Azam's 17-year-old daughter Kiran came out of her room and he also opened fire on her, leaving her severely injured.
On receiving the information, Jaranwala police officers reached the spot along with a team.
They sent the injured girl to a hospital through Rescue 1122 and shifted the body to the Jaranwala Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.
The police said they were searching for the suspect.
