Ben Rathbun, known for his role on season five of 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days, has died aged 55. TMZ reports that the reality TV personality passed away on Monday at his home in Greencastle, Indiana, after being diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer late last year.

A family source confirmed that Rathbun’s final moments were spent surrounded by loved ones, including his wife Mahogany Roca. Their relationship, first documented on the TLC series, sparked debate due to their 30-year age gap but ultimately proved authentic. In February 2024, the couple revealed they had married, appearing together on 90 Day Diaries.

Before joining the show, Rathbun worked as executive director of the Michigan Lupus Foundation. He was later dismissed following a 2022 DUI-related arrest. The incident stemmed from a 2020 case and resulted in a bench warrant after he missed a court hearing. Rathbun later stated that the experience humbled him and helped him grow.

Fans initially questioned the legitimacy of his romance with Mahogany, suspecting he was being misled online. However, they later met in person in Peru and got engaged at the same restaurant where they first met. Their story, though rocky, became a standout narrative in the franchise.

Despite facing legal trouble and public criticism, Rathbun remained committed to his relationship and faith.

Condolences have been shared across the reality TV community, recognising Rathbun as a complex but memorable figure in the 90 Day Fiancé world.
